Lake Crystal/Mankato Area GAPS Workshop -- Thursday June 25, 2015

Are you a farmer interested in learning more about Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) on your farm? Attend this on-farm workshop to learn how GAPs can help minimize food safety risks with fresh produce. GAPs are good for business and good for your customers. This workshop is intended for fruit and vegetable farmers.

PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

By the end of the on-farm workshop, you will have:
-Learned the most recent food safety information including GAPs audits and the Food Safety Modernization Act and what it may mean for your farm
-Toured the packing, washing, and storage facilities and learned about potential food safety issues on the farm and participated in problem solving
-Practiced writing food safety SOPs and risk assessment statements

You will receive a pre-loaded flashdrive with a food safety plan template and resources to help you learn more

What to bring:
1. Please bring a check for $15 made payable to the University of Minnesota for lunch.
2. Dress for the weather.
3. Pencil or pen and paper if you want to take notes.
4. Your food safety plan (if you have one)
5. All your questions!
