OHS Seminar Nomination Request - 2013

Dear OHS Faculty Members, To prepare for the 2013-2014 OHS Seminar Series, the Oral Health Sciences PhD Program would like to receive your recommendations for potential seminar speakers. These recommendations will be reviewed by the OHS Seminar Committee, who will then make a decision regarding the selection of speakers. Should your recommendation be selected by the committee, you will be responsible for hosting the seminar speaker. The Office of Research will be available to assist in scheduling the guest's travel arrangements and help the faculty host in preparing the itinerary and other paperwork necessary. In recommending a potential speaker, please keep the following points in mind: 1. A speaker from off campus: This should be a speaker with an outstanding scientific reputation whom you have heard speak and is know to give an excellent presentation. Please give a brief description of the probable subject matter of the speaker’s presentation. If your suggestion is chosen you will be expected to host the speaker. 2. A speaker from within the UM community: Again, you should know that this person would give an excellent presentation. Please give a brief description of the probable subject matter of the speaker’s presentation. 3. A speaker from the Oral Health Sciences PhD Program: Would you volunteer to give a presentation of your research? This is very important for our research community and for the PhD students to know our research. In order to collect the information as efficently as possible we've included a form directly in this email where you can submit your nomination and give information. If you have a CV or other information you'd like to forward to our office please email Kimberly Smith at kimbsmit@umich.edu. Your nominations will be sent to the OHS Seminar Committee for review. Thank you for continuing to support the OHS Seminar Series. Sincerely, Jan *** Jan Hu, BDS, Ph.D. Professor and Director, Oral Health Sciences PhD Program
