Designing a Case: RSVP
Date: Monday, November 13, 2017
Time: 1:30-3:00pm, afternoon refreshments provided
Location: 1013 Palmer Commons (CRLT’s seminar room), Central Campus
This workshop will be facilitated in collaboration with Stephanie Kusano from the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT). We will focus on how to write strong learning outcomes and design a case aligned with these outcomes. Participants will then practice writing their own learning outcomes in a small-group setting. Please bring an electronic or hard copy of your case study—whether completed, in progress, or envisioned—and a copy of the syllabus for the course in which you’d like to use the case.
If possible, please also bring a student author who is working on the case with you. We believe student authors will benefit from attending this workshop as well and that a close partnership between students and faculty leads to a successful case. More importantly, we hope to continue to build a campus community around case-based learning, where peer learning and support are fostered.
