    Role Descriptions

    - Working Board Members meet every other month (distance participation via video calls is possible) and are accountable for Lori's Hands programming, fundraising, and overall vision. Working Board Members have specific roles (fundraising, communications, research oversight, academic oversight, client services, health services, budget) and are expected to work between board meetings to push their initiatives forward with the help of committee members and general volunteers. Working Board Members are expected to participate in at least 4 of the 6 yearly board meetings and are encouraged to contribute financially (any amount) to the organization. - Advisory Council Members are available for consult with Lori's Hands board members as needed, and make their expertise, connections, and resources available to the organization on an as-needed basis. Advisory Council Members are often the face of the organization at community events, and serve as stewards to the public for Lori's Hands. - Committee Members serve as "worker bees" on an as-needed basis at the discretion of board members. For example, a fundraising committee member might help plan the annual fundraiser, solicit auction items/sponsorships, or otherwise provide practical support to the organization on specific projects. - Community Volunteers serve our clients and students in a variety of ways. Some community volunteers cook meals for our students to deliver to clients. Others write thank you notes to our donors, birthday cards to our clients, or assist at our events.
