A student-led project open to UCI and the wider community. InSight Magazine seeks to make poverty visible and to highlight creative and effective approaches to poverty alleviation. It is part of a broad effort to harness the power of media to educate, engage, and inspire change.

What We Are Looking For:
InSight Magazine accepts content that addresses the multidimensional issue of poverty, including, but not limited to narratives, perspectives, opinion, and commentary. Topics of interest include student poverty, incarceration, homelessness and human trafficking.

Submissions related to issues within the Southern California region will be given priority for the inaugural issue. However, future issues will be expanded beyond this regional focus.

Apart from written pieces, multimedia pieces such as photo essays, videos, infographics or artwork related to poverty also will be considered.

We are looking for articles that run around 1-5 pages in length. However, submissions of any length will be considered as we seek to diversify the work published.

Once submitted, your content will be reviewed by the editorial team. Due to limited space, we are only able to accept a certain number of submissions. If you do not hear from us in 7 days after the deadline please assume that we will not be able to use your article. At that time, please feel free to offer it elsewhere.
