UCI Student Center, Pacific Ballroom C
The Office of the Campus Writing Coordinator, Illuminations, and Humanities Commons invite you to join them in Writing the Future, a one-day symposium on May 31, 2017 which brings together authors, scholars, humanists, scientists, and industry leaders to discuss what it means to imagine the future. Panelists and guest lecturers will discuss the ethical obligations of writing about the future, whether creatively or scientifically and will consider how we might, given the current socio-political context globally, imagine together futures that are socially equitable and environmentally sustainable.
Students at both UCI and UCR are encouraged to submit their own visions of the future to the affiliated Writing the Future writing contest. The winners will be announced at the symposium. For more information, please visit http://writing.uci.edu/writing-contests/.
Please RSVP by Friday, May 26, 2017.
