Eyes on the Sky
Our goal is to provide your students with an opportunity to view such objects as our Moon; our Sun, sometimes with sunspots and prominences; planets, occasionally with some of their moons; stars of different sizes and colour; and deep-sky objects such as nebulae, globular clusters, and galaxies. Objects viewed are dependent on sky conditions, light pollution and time of day/month.

Due to northern latitude sunset times we offer night time viewing from early October to early March. Safe solar viewing is available September through June.

We are able to provide up to two presentations, one indoor Classroom Astronomy presentation and one outdoor telescope experience to be chosen from the following options:

The Sky Scan project is supported financially, through volunteers, and through in-kind contributions by the following organizations: The Department of Physics (University of Alberta), Edmonton Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and the Alberta Science Network.
