slNew MySpace opens to the public alongside new Justin Timberlake singlehttp://www.theverge.com/2013/1/15/3878340/new-myspace-launches-to-the-public

.

- new myspace came out of beta this week. looks to be timed with investor Justin Timberlake's new single
- some ppl love JT but this is a bit much, huge promotion/itunes link on homepage
- heavy emphasis on music discovery, layout is very confusing
- if i'm discovering artists, myspace becomes more of a spotify competitor than FB competitor. do my friends & i want to build network based on music?
- search function is cool. just start typing
- side scrolling is awful, really feels unfinished

- Uadacity is an online course start-up founded by Sebastian Thurn, a former Stanford professor

Previous tests:
- Performance of online vs. traditional: In MIT and Harvard's similar EdX pilot course - 40 percent in the traditional class arrangement got a C grade or lower, only 9 percent using the blended online course picked up the same grades.
- Online dropout rate: 90 percent

Q: Does our current technology make an online educational experience equivalent to a traditional one?

Hey Tom and crew! Couldn’t pass up an opportunity to provide a quick “well actually”! Bexar County is pronounced “bear”. Here’s a little tidbit of history… when Texas won its independence from Mexico, it divided the area into 4 administrative divisions, Bexar County being one of them. The area was quite large and when Texas was admitted into the United States, it partitioned Bexar County into 128 separate counties.

Thanks for the show!

Jeff from San Antonio.

Hey TNT Crew,

After listening to the bashing of 3D and the talk of how old game consoles are in the last few episodes, I just keep thinking there is a major thing missing from that picture. ;)

I get it, I think 3D is a gimmick too when it comes to film but why isn't anyone considering how useful or immerse 3D would or will be when the gaming consoles are revised? With the advent of 4K and the promise of full support from Sony in the PS4 I think 3D & 4K start to make a lot of sense and I for one can't wait to see it! 3D will make sense soon!
