Analysts at Stern Agee say you should get used to it, expecting volatility in the stock until he end of the year, mostly because investors want to get out some value in case the US gets pushed into recession by it's idiot politicians on both sides of the aisle. iPhone sales are expected to be profitable. http://articles.marketwatch.com/2012-12-12/industries/35760827_1_ipad-mini-apple-volatility-aapl

If you click the outer edge of a banner ad, you'll see a prompt where you'll have to click again to see the ad. iaGoogle's copyright transparency report has a new feature - it will now show false DMCA takedown requests. You'd have to look at a specific takedown request to see those false requests - they're listed under the "No action taken" section. Sometimes requests are under the "No action" designation because the infringing content has already been taken down, however there are times when there's no infringement. The Google transparency report FAQ recounts the case of a movie studio requesting to remove an official trailer from an authorized service. http://torrentfreak.com/google-starts-reporting-false-dmca-takedown-requests-121213/

.

- MS head of Windows product development Julie Larson-Green talked with MIT's Technology Review
- Led the introduction of the "ribbon" interface in MS Office and is the head of Win product development after Steven Sinofsky left
- On Windows 8's new interface - "Some people who review it for a shorter period of time may not feel how rich it really is. We're going for the over time impression rather than the first 20 minutes out of the box."
- Said that MS found that people used to the old ways had a difficult transition to Win8 and that since the tech press would face the most challenge with the new interface
- Larson-Green says it takes two days to two weeks to adjust and with their customer experience improvement program that MS has found that desktop users after six weeks start using the new things more than the things they were familiar with.

On what will change now that she's in charge: "Not a whole lot."

Q: Sounds like MS is all in with the Windows 8 interface - if MS keeps at it, will it gain acceptance over time?

.

- Aereo has its first official cable TV partner: Bloomberg
- the WSJ says Aereo will pay Bloomberg, but terms of the deal weren't disclosed

- Aereo is the Barry Diller-backed Internet video service that currently provides users in New York with live TV.
- For $12 a month, Aereo will connect subscribers, via the Web, to a tiny antenna that captures over-the-air TV signals and enables the subscribers to watch TV on their PC or smartphone. Aereo doesn't pay a dime to access these shows.

Q: Will this deal start a trend to get more cable companies on Aereo or will it just infuriate the broadcasters even further (Aereo doesn't pay ABC, CBS, etc for their OTA content)?

Hi TNT Team,

I think [the NBC/Yahoo] partnership make sense from a "second screen" experience point of view given the excellence of Yahoo sports properties like their Fantasy leagues. Imagine watching sportball on Sunday; NBC Sports is live on the big screen and your iPad is showing the realtime status of your Yahoo Fantasy Sportball league along with with gloating comments from your friends, player statistics in sync with the colour commentary, and then an amazing replay from a game that you aren't watching pops up.

Sports fans would kill for that experience.

Rob from Toronto.
