tmAs more details followed Microsoft's Xbox One announcement yesterday, people have begun to worry that used games will not be allowed on the system. The confusion stems from Microsoft's requirement that games be installed to the hard drive. If the game is put in another box under another account a fee would be charged to play that game. However Microsoft's Larry Hryb said on his blog "we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail." And Microsoft corporate VP Phil Harrison told Kotaku the company has a plan to allow gamers to trade previously played games online.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22623010

slGoogle's got a new conversational search feature in the latest version of its Chrome browser for Windows, Mac and Linux. You'll now see a small microphone symbol in the right-hand side of the search field, and at the top of any page containing search results, so you can ask Google questions from the desktop using only their voice. Like Google Now, the service pulls information stored through other Google services. For example if the user asks when their flight is supposed to leave, the service will check Google Calendar. Using the phrase “Okay Google”, you can move onto your next query, much like how it works in Google Glass.http://thenextweb.com/google/2013/05/22/googles-new-conversational-search-feature-is-live-in-the-latest-version-of-chrome/

slLive TV on the Xbox One: Microsoft learns nothing from Google TV's mistakeshttp://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4352710/live-tv-on-the-xbox-one-microsoft-didnt-learn-from-google-tv

.

- issue a command; device will react to your gestures/movements, thanks to the built-in Kinect sensor; control it with a smartphone/tablet via the integrated SmartGlass service.
- voice-activated channel switching, layered stats on top of basketball game
- Xbox One's TV integration doesn't integrate with your TV service, it's just a top layert: you plug your cable box's HDMI cable into the Xbox for Xbox interface. If you don't have a newer cable box that lets you change channels via HDMI, you have to use IR blaster to control their cable or satellite boxes
- nilay patel: this is exactly what google TV does, and what microsft's webTV did back in day. if you're not watching live TV, won't work with your DVR or control Roku. if IR blaster fails, experience falls apart. no built-in tuner, so forget OTA signal
- US launch, where TV is v fragmented.

- Issues may stem from the HTC First. Original plans were to let the HTC First have Facebook Home exclusively for a while, but Facebook decided to make Home available on the Google Play Store

Q: Does it sound like HTC is imploding? Would a managerial shake up help? An acquisition?

Hey TNT crew,

I just wanted to chime in about the new Flickr changes. Your guest Kevin Purdy said he didn't see how these changes would attract new users. In my opinion these changes were more about getting the numerous users like myself who have had a Flickr account for years, but have been ignoring it to start using the service again.

Personally, I love the new layout and the 1 TB limit is awesome. You guys really seemed to be down on Flickr yesterday, but I just wanted to say there are some of us out here who really like the new changes.

Love the show,

Josh Johnson

TNT crew,

I didn't hear on your coverage or other's coverage of the XBox One about privacy. Since the Xbox One is 'always on' and the new Kinect is always listening for you to say XBox on or other commands then the device is always listening and could be watching.
The XBox One is a step closer to the Telescreen in George Orwell's 1984. Ok, I know that is paranoid, but do we trust Microsoft not to use this device in our homes to listen and look using the always on Kinect?
