tmIt's an old story. A creator wants to make popular content, so borrows pieces of popular existing content and remixes them into their own thing. But then brandishing intellectual property law the popular content's owner comes striding in and files a federal lawsuit. Hey TNT crew,

I’d like to share a simple observation with you that I have come to over the past several days. I recently upgraded my smartphone from my old, faithful iPhone 4 to a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4. The hardware and feature set upgrade was phenomenal, the 1080p screen is much higher fidelity, the 4g network is much faster... As a piece of hardware this is the greatest smartphone I have ever held in my hand, even if the plastic back is disparaged by most reviewers.

Tomorrow I will be returning it for a full refund.

Why? Because even though it’s a better phone, I simply do not get enough added utility out of it. Everything I need from a mobile device is handled perfectly well by the nearly 3 year old iPhone. It’s not as though I’m not tech savvy either, I’m rather impressed by the fact that the S4 has around the same CPU base clock and RAM capacity as the budget laptop I took to college in 2007.

Given that the smartphone market continues to grow as more and more users ditch their feature phones, how much longer do you think we’ll wait before the Smartphone market starts to look like the PC market now?

One where consumers will extend their upgrade cycle by several years as the devices they have currently suit all their computing needs.

- Alex
