Samsung Galaxy S4 review
http://www.theverge.com/2013/4/24/4257254/samsung-galaxy-s4-review

.

The reviews for the Galaxy S4 are in
- David Pogue of the NYT says "If this were Apple, who adds the letter S to denote a slightly upgraded model (“iPhone 4S,” for example), Samsung might have called this phone the Galaxy S3S." and "All told, nobody at the office will notice that you’ve bought the latest and greatest."

- David Pierce at The Verge says, "I don't like holding this phone, and I can't overstate how much that informs the experience of using it. It makes an awful first impression, slippery and slimy and simply unpleasant in your hand."
- on letting people try out the GS4 - it received "...the opposite of the standard reaction to HTC’s One, which everyone wants to ogle and hold"

Mossberg at the WSJ says it's not a great phone and recommended the HTC One

Q: Are reviewers being overly critical of the S4 at this point? Is this just what happens to the market leader?

slJudge gives taxi-hailing apps in NYC the go-aheadhttp://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57581076-93/judge-gives-taxi-hailing-apps-in-nyc-the-go-ahead/

.

- State Supreme Court Judge Carol Huff dismissed a lawsuit Tuesday that sought to halt a pilot program that began in December - when the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission voted to allow apps like Uber, Hailo, GetTaxi in a yearlong pilot program. to go into effect in March. lawsuit postponed it
- passengers put their location information into the app, which is then sent to yellow cabs. The first taxi to arrive on the scene gets to pick up the customer. According to today's decision, these apps will have one year to prove their worth in New York City.
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick: "New York City has some of the deepest dug-in, most entrenched special interests in the country. The fact that Taxi Commissioner David Yassky and Mayor Mike Bloomberg were able to overcome the transportation industry's blatant self-interest should be a lesson for other cities and states who also want to be forward-looking, tech-friendly and visionary."
- Before now, taxis weren't allowed to take pre-arranged rides and livery cars aren't allowed to pick up passengers hailing cabs. The livery-car companies say that taxi-hailing apps will hurt their business because it means yellow cabs will be able to tread on their territory.

Hey guys love the show!

In regards to texting and driving on Episode 738. I agree with both Tom and Iyaz on this issue. I think however a law will need to be put in place. Iyaz mentioned that auto manufactures have an awesome oppurtunity to meet this challenge head on. The problem is they usually don't innovate widescale until some type of regulatory safety law is passed. Look at seatbelts, airbags and now backup cams are on the docket. It seems a manufactures mandate would get their motors running on more aggressive phone integration but I don't see them doing it on their own. Thanks guys.
