slApple Finally Reveals How Long Siri Keeps Your Datahttp://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/04/siri-two-years/

.

- everything Siri takes in is held for 2 years. Wired got statement from rep at Apple Trudy Muller after after a post yesterday highlighting shadowy privacy policy: Siri’s Privacy agreement, Apple says that it deletes your user data as well as the “recent” things that you’ve said to Siri whenever you slide the Siri switch off. But it keeps the older stuff, and it’s not exactly clear how this process works.
- ACLU had raised concerns
- Muller says the data is anonymized and only collects the Siri voice clips in order to improve Siri itself.
- you speak to Siri, analyzed by Apple’s data farm. Apple generates random numbers to represent you, associates the voice files with that number. not your Apple user ID or email address.
- Once the voice recording is six months old, Apple “disassociates” your user number from the clip, deleting the number from the voice file. But it keeps these disassociated files for up to 18 more months for testing and product improvement purposes.
“Apple may keep anonymized Siri data for up to two years,” Muller says “If a user turns Siri off, both identifiers are deleted immediately along with any associated data.”

iaGoogle leak hints at an Android game center with multiplayer, chat, lobbies, leaderboards, and achievements http://thenextweb.com/google/2013/04/18/google-leak-hints-at-an-android-game-center-with-multiplayer-chat-lobbies-leaderboards-and-achievements/

[APK Teardown] Google Games, Anyone? Play Services Is Getting Real-Time And Turn-Based Multiplayer, Invitations, In-Game Chat, Lobbies, Leaderboards, And Achievements!http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/18/apk-teardown-google-games-anyone-play-services-is-getting-real-time-and-turn-based-multiplayer-invitations-in-game-chat-lobbies-leaderboards-and-achievements/

.

- Android Police did an APK teardown of MyGlass, the Google Glass companion app and found Google appears to be working on a game center
- The hub would include leaderboards, achievements, multiplayer support, and in-game chat.
- For turn based games, the code says that you'll get notifications when it's your turn
- In-game chat also gets a mention, though it’s apparently limited to real-time multiplayer
- There is also a chat room function so you can talk before a game.
- Android Police doesn't think the service has a lot to do with Google Glass since Glass can't run complex games.
- The Glass team apparently shipped the full suit of Google Play Services with their app

Q: Google Play Game Center! Is this something Google needs to do? Assuming it's real, do you think this would be more like Apple Game Center or Xbox Live?

Facebook Voice Calling Now Available To All US Users Thanks To Today’s Android Rollout
http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/18/facebook-voip-home/

.

- Facebook brings free VoIP calling to Android in the US.
- The feature was already available in 23 other countries. The US is the 24th.
- In the US, you'll be able to make VoIP calls using Home and the Messenger app
- Already available for iOS since January
- users will know they have the new VoIP feature if they can click the "i" icon on a friend's profile and then select "free call."

Q: So this means you'll be able to make free Facebook calls on the two major mobile platforms in the US. With faster mobile networks in the US, will this make FB a major player in the VoIP game?

Hi everybody!

I think that the evernote jetpack time machine might be something like a flexible paper thin and paper textured display to be used with a stylus for drawing and note taking, digital paper done right.

That would make me use evernote.
Love the show, watch it everyday.

slHi TNT Crew,

Regarding the story on google preventing the resale of google glass, I have one small correction to make. In the discussion, it was mentioned about not being about to gift glass. This however, IS allowed by the terms.

https://www.google.com/glass/terms/

Relevant Section:

Resale and Gifts
You may not commercially resell any Device, but you may give the Device as a gift, unless otherwise set forth in the Device Specific Addendum. Recipients of gifts may need to open and maintain a Google Wallet account in order to receive support from Google. These Terms will also apply to any gift recipient.

-- Charles from Louisiana
https://www.google.com/glass/terms/This provision is specific to Glass Explorer, : Unless otherwise authorized by Google, you may only purchase one Device, and you may not resell, loan, transfer, or give your Device to any other person. If you resell, loan, transfer, or give your device to any other person without Google’s authorization, Google reserves the right to deactivate the Device, and neither you nor the unauthorized person using the Device will be entitled to any refund, product support, or product warranty.
