Apple was accused of pursuing the conspiracy to undercut online retailer Amazon.com Inc's e-book dominance, causing some prices to rise. Apple counters that the plaintiffs' allegations are false and said it will appeal Cote's decision.

slDropbox Blows Up the Box, Connecting Every App, File, and Devicehttp://www.wired.com/business/2013/07/dropbox

.

- dropbox used by 175M people - co won't say how many are paying customers, though the company does say those users add 1 billion files to the service every day.
- new Chooser and Saver options for devs — first of suite of features called Drop-ins —make Dropbox the “open” and “save” windows in apps. (Chooser is available for iOS, Android, web, and mobile web. Saver is just available for the web and mobile web, with other platforms to follow).
- Mailbox app — bought by Dropbox earlier this year — will send attachments, which neither Apple’s native iOS email app nor Google’s iOS GMail app can do natively. paper clip icon at the bottom of the new message window opens a list of Dropbox files.
- Datastores: developers can make their apps cross-device/cross-platform. apps write data about themselves into Dropbox from one device, datastores reads that data on another. EXAMPLE: users could extract the information housed in Datastores from, for example, a fitness-tracking app, combine that with data from a healthcare app, and hand the result to a doctor.
q: will apple play nice with the dropbox layer?

- Heins was asked if he was looking into strategic alternative and he said he is open to all options that create value for shareholders
- He also made remarks that BB was open to any and all licensing opportunities
- Heins repeatedly said on Tuesday that “we are not a devices-only company,”
- A portfoilio manager with MacNicol & Associates said "He is talking about partnerships and being open to talks and I don't think you say that unless you've really had a talk or two with interested parties - and that gives you some confidence."
- One shareholder said to Heins "My sense is that the rollout of the Z10 was a disaster." Heins responded with "Were we perfect at launch? Probably not. Was it a disaster? I don't think so." BB announced that it shipped 2.7M of the new models. 1M less than analysts expectations
- Meanwhile the WSJ says BB is looking at another round of layoffs. BB confirmed that its sales VP in the US Richar Piasentin was fired in June, but did not comment on the layoffs.

- It's liquid at room temp and forms a thin skin when exposed to air
- The researchers put the alloy in a syringe and were able to squeeze out wires about a centimeter tall.
- This could allow for bendable electronics as the material could remain liquid within a rubber coating
- The alloy could also be used in a 3D printer.
