Amanda's Bio:I grew up playing in house fastpitch in elementary school for OMGAA. I started to pitch in 5th grade because I thought it would be fun to try something new. I played my first year of travel ball during 12U for Hopkins the first year and then Cooper Armstrong the second year. I was starting pitcher for both teams after working hard on the fundamentals of pitching for just one year! I continued on with Cooper Armstrong until my sophomore year of high school, when I switched to Clutch Hitters out of Bloomington for 16U, where I mixed pitching with some 1B, 2B, and OF. I played high school ball for Benilde-St. Margarets for six years. I spent countless hours in the gym throwing thousands and thousands of pitches each year. My hard work ended up paying off for me. Of those six years, I pitched for the varsity for four of them, where I earned All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors. My ERA for my junior and senior years stayed under 1.00, and I batted over .400. I also served as a coach for winter and summer clinics at BSM throughout high school. As a recent college grad, I was so excited to come back and coach for my alma mater! I served as a pitching coach at BSM, and also helped out with all of the teams as needed. I spent most of my time coaching the C-squad this year. I look forward to coaching the MN Whirl 16U this summer!
