9/12/2014 8:24:22noyesTakes a bit of time to find the right level, and even then it's a bit hit and miss whether it will be too easy, too hard, or engaging due to the different levels in the class. A good idea, I would use it with my studentsI would be happy making resources with my students to put on the site.yesNay. Yes as a self-reflection tool and then a way to fill gaps in learning - getting students to reflect on what they found the hardest in the unit and then how they eventually understood it. Then maybe you would get 2 or 3 different explanations by students of how they made sense of a difficult part. And then next year that could be a resource to help explain that difficult part.

I would be happy with resources being made with my students for my subject, but I would not like to make them
not sure
Correct mathematical terminology is essential and should be checked. In the fractions video. one half is read as one and a half which is incorrect

some are pretty useful and offer a variety of ways to produce things, others are not so helpful

It is always a challenge to find resources that are at the appropriate level, have good content and are user friendly. Too many clicks and the kids are turned off a site or activity and the time you spent finding something you thought was really good is wasted!

yesYou rock Fergie!
Students are much happier listening to each other instead of their teachers even at the best of times! I think this idea could grow across all age levels and could provide opportunities for new students to find out more about our college and what we do from the students who are actually doing it - right here and right now. You could maybe even look at live broadcasts through Skype from one school to another linking learning across curriculum levels and subjects??

Quality varies significantly. one has to review and check that it suits the nz curriculum and levels of our learners. You find you view a lot of online resources before settling on one. The digistore resources produced by TKI are well suited to NZ schools.

yes
Most students are creating digital resources and this may be a way of collecting the best resources to share, kind of a digital learning legacy.
It terms of learn create share the site is perfect. Students can leave digital exemplars for the following year.

OK, understandably generic, which means I have to tweak to the learning focus, but that makes sense to me anyway
A good idea, I would use it with my students
Like the idea of making, as well as not making, depending on time
yes
Totally! Students think like students, and therefore have a greater insight into how resources could, and should be useful to their own learning
