SUHSD Induction Enrollment for 2019-20
Thank you for indicating your intention to participate as a candidate in the SUHSD Induction program!
What is Teacher Induction?
Induction is the process by which a teacher earns eligibility to be recommended to the Commission for Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for a Professional Clear Teaching Credential. A teacher must earn a Professional Clear credential within five years of activating her/his Preliminary credential. Visit CTC's website
to check the date your credential expires.
What is my commitment?
In July 2016, the SUHSD resumed supporting teachers seeking eligibility for district recommendation to CTC for issue of Clear Teaching credentials. This program, offered to Induction candidates free of charge, requires teachers to engage with experienced "mentors" and others over a two-year period for at least 40 hours each year. To be recommended to CTC for a clear credential, candidates must generate evidence of satisfactory mastery of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs) under the guidance of their mentors.
Are you willing to contribute this level of engagement to our program?
Support for all beginning teachers is a priority for the SUHSD. This includes teachers at a variety of levels from interns to experienced teachers with preliminary credentials. To clear a preliminary credential through Induction activities, a candidate must currently hold a Preliminary teaching credential. What type of credential do you currently hold?
