CITs are expected to be great role models for the campers in the dorms, in the tents and during all activities. CITs also aid in the creation, setup and implementation of non-circus activities at camp. While the CITs do not participate in the circus activities with campers, they will learn various spotting techniques that will allow them to aid the staff with circus training. This program will give participants a behind the scenes look at what it means to be a counselor and what it takes to make Smirkus Camp a safe and fun environment for all of those involved. Upon completion CITs will be honored at a recognition ceremony they’re sure to remember!
There are at least two Counselor-In-Training positions available in all sessions except for Session V. While applicants may indicate which session they would prefer to attend, placement in that session is not guaranteed. The CIT program charge helps to cover the cost of training, meals, lodging, certificate, a CIT T-shirt, as well as an amazing Smirkus leadership experience!
The CIT Applications are due December 1, 2017. Applications received after the deadline may not be considered for the CIT program.
