Festival Submission Guidelines and Regulations
Please do not send screeners in foam or fibre filled envelopes, this type of packaging can be hard to recycle and damage our equipment. If we receive a submission in this type of package, we may just not open it. Don't worry about fancy DVD cases either, we just want to see your film not your marketing.
* Submissions must be either DVD or online screener formats
* A separate form is required for each title.
* If sending a DVD, please label your submission clearly with the: title, runtime, filmmaker’s name, contact address, phone number and email.
* Film works in languages other than English must be subtitled.
* Submitted DVD’s will NOT be returned unless a self-addressed pre-paid envelope is included in your package.
* Program decisions will be made by mid-April and all filmmakers and/or distributors of selected works will be notified by email or phone.
* Sled Island will pay one-way only for shipment of the exhibition materials. (Shipment to our festival OR the return of materials to another festival location.)
* Please DO NOT send support materials with your submission, unless requested to by us. Once selected, we will let you know what we need.
* If you are sending work from outside Canada, please indicate on the outside of the package, “For Festival Preview Only; No Commercial Value” or you may be required to pay customs duties.
* Declare your package less than $20 value or Sled Island will be charged fees that we will not pay.
