Nutrition Education Action Team Professional Reference Form

NEAT’s goal is to support the well being of SJSU students through nutrition education. NEAT trains and recruits students wanting hands‐on nutrition education experience and provides 75 hours/semester of non‐hospital dietetic internship hours (1st semester) and 50 hours/semester (subsequent semesters). NEAT also counts as 150 Kinesiology internship hours. NEAT is a part of the Wellness & Health Promotion office in the Student Health Center and is a recognized student organization. NEAT students have completed nutrition coursework and are trained to provide presentations, tabling events, and health awareness weeks to SJSU students. Selection for NEAT is competitive. Wellness and Health Promotion is looking for students who have the motivation, maturity, and intellectual capacity to be a role model, advocate, and educator for their peers.
