Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK) based at the Sierra Club's Washington, D.C. office. OAK is a growing coalition with over 80 members all working together to increase opportunities for children, youth and families to get outdoors.
This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to work side-by-side some of the most influential national organizations in America, including conservation, recreation, health and youth development organizations. An intern may be expected to conduct research, gather and analyze information, write memos, letters and fact sheets, help with social media and website updates, conduct outreach to OAK member organizations and external partners, among other tasks. Interns will have opportunities to participate in meetings on Capitol Hill and/or the Administration and learn about the important role coalitions play in advancing policies and initiatives. Interns are selected on the basis of their interests, education and experience in related fields. We especially seek interns who have been directly involved in conservation, health, education or youth development work and have good communication and writing skills. Our intern rotations are in the fall, winter/spring, and summer. Longer internships will be considered on a case by case basis.
We are honored that you want to join our team. We will follow up with you directly if we are interested in your candidacy. No phone calls please.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship based in Washington, DC.
