IEDU Times Board Member Application

This is a student run organization that posts student reports regarding topics such as politics, entertainment, sports, personal interviews, current events, etc. These reports will be posted once a month in Korean Herald and The Los Angeles Times newspapers. This organization will promote youth members who would like to raise an awareness of ongoing activities in our society. Through these reports they will be able to gain many different perspectives of the different aspects of life.

The President will be responsible for setting and monitoring the goals for the board members, running board meetings, communicating with the board members, implementing the organization's vision, mission, overall direction, appointing tasks as necessary, recruiting, training and retaining members, and maintaining regular communication with the director and assistant director.

The vice president serves the president, other board members, and the general members. He or she is also expected to learn the duties of the president in order to fill in or take over as necessary. The vice president will also be required to take charge of student reporters and student reporter applications.

Secretary (1)

The secretary is one of the most demanding positions and a good secretary is essential to the proper functioning of the board meetings. The secretary is responsible for keeping records, taking attendance, and maintaining all important files. The secretary will be expected to send a meeting summary via email to all of the board members after each meeting and a reminder of the next meeting.

The assistant secretary has the same expectations as the secretary. He or she will be expected to work under the secretary as his or her assistant and fulfill all duties necessary.

Account Manager (1)

The account manager controls all money related things, both its collection and disbursement. He or she must prepare and monitor the budget and maintain accurate financial records.

Fundraising Manager (1)

Fundraising manager will be in charge of coming up with fundraising ideas. He or is expected to show up to all fundraising events to maintain organization and to make sure that the event is running as planned. The fundraising manager must have exceptional problem solving skills. He or she must report and give all profits made to the account manager.

Marketing Resources Director (1)

The marketing resources director is in charge of publicity. He or she will come up with tactics to publicize and market everything. The marketing resources director will often work with the fundraising team and the social media team.

The editor job is one of the most vigorous jobs. Editors will be in charge of student reporter applications. They will select the top reports and edit them as necessary.

Social media director is in charge of publicizing and marketing on social media. He or she will be required to regularly check our social media sites and update them. He or she will regularly work with the Marketing team and the Fundraising team.
