Book Project Survey
Dear SLA staff,

Long story short -- Lehmann was approached by ASCD about writing a book that embodied the teaching and learning practices of SLA.  He's already in contract to write another title, so he passed the project along to me.

The working title of the book is "Personalization in the Inquiry-Based Classroom." This book is not really "The SLA Anthology" (which was my original proposal)... but the chapter structure is the five core values we use, and the majority of classroom examples will be from us. The overall goal of the book is to provide a how-to for both individual teachers and schools/districts to transition to this kind of learning model, especially when they are taking the leap of going 1:1.

Suffice it to say that I don't really see myself as the "author" of this book so much as the compiler of the collective knowledge and practices of the school. I want to present an accurate, authentic, and well-rounded portrayal of what we do.

To those ends, I need help from everybody right now! I've put together a few prompts relating to each of the five core values. For this project to be successful, I really, really need everybody to fill this out.

However, I do NOT need you to fill out every prompt -- scan through them and pick the ones where your expertise and classroom examples come to mind quickly. (If you have time to respond to all five core values, you earn extra credit points in my heart.)

With any luck, this title will be published in time for EduCon 2015... Also, I'm working with the publisher to direct profits from the book to SLA :)

Thanks a million,
Larissa

p.s. Everybody will have a chance to review any book sections in which they appear before the title goes to press. I would love to feature all of us! If you have any questions or concerns about being represented in the book, please let me know.
