Your place placement will begin in the 2019-20 school year. Informational meetings will take place before the end of the school year. Trainings will take place at the beginning of next school year.

DONS TECH TEAM- Student and Staff technology support
As a tech team member you will work with Mr. Macias and assist students with technology troubleshooting needs.

DONS PEER MENTORS -in Guided Studies
Peer mentors work in a classroom setting with a teacher during seminar time. You will be assigned to be an academic coach, guide, and tutor for up to three or four students within a given seminar class. You will help peers with study skills, organization, and completing assignments. Relationship building is KEY. Patience and a good sense of humor are sometimes needed with students who can be resistant to help. Being outgoing, enthusiastic, and having excellent attendance is a must.

DONS PEER TUTORS- Writing Center, Math Center or Targeted Tutorials
English or Math Centers: Peer tutors will be present in either the English or Math Center during seminar to work with students on a drop-in basis. They may also sign up to be available after school in the library one or two days a week from 3-4:30 pm. You will assist students who have a challenging assignment or are referred by one of their teachers. Your name, subject area expertise, and contact information may also be publicized so that students can find you and set up tutoring times outside of school.
Targeted Tutorials: Peer tutors may also be placed in subject-specific Targeted Tutorials to assist peers alongside a teacher during seminar.

ACADEMIC MENTOR- only if you have a free period
Tutoring in Math, Physics and AVID Classes Periods 0-6, must have an open period.

PEER MENTOR For The ACADEMY FOR SUCCESS- Must have open period 5
