Words Their Way
The SAU9 Literacy Committee is excited to provide you with an opportunity for professional learning in the implementation of Words Their Way as a curriculum material for word study. Over the past few years a number of people have been using this resource with their students. This is an opportunity to further develop skills around Words Their Way and word study.

Objectives:
As a result of this workshop, teachers will...
• Be able to articulate the differences between word study and phonics
• Identify realistic expectations for students to transfer word study into accurate spelling
• Build strategies for addressing holes that have been found in Words Their Way
• Be able to implement strategies for managing data
• Be able to make instructional decisions based upon data collected

This training will be offered two times, once this June and again in August, as long as we have enough participants. Participants will be asked to bring their Words Their Way books to the training. All other materials and lunch will be provided.
