Three guest speakers have been confirmed: Randy Flores, former MLB pitcher and current director of scouting for the Cardinals; Spink Award winner Rick Hummel, "The Commish," giving his take on the 2017 season; Dan Martin, cartoonist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch; and Gary Kodner, author of a new book entitled St. Louis Cardinals Uniforms & Logos: An Illustrated History. Doors open at 11:30; the buffet Italian meal will start at noon. We'll also have trivia (with prizes), attendance prizes, and a goodie bag for every attendee. This is a great opportunity to shake off winter for an afternoon and talk baseball, and to support your local chapter. We've got one identified project for 2017 (replacing the ballpark marker for Robison Field) and another to be announced; your attendance will help us with these. You don't need to be a SABR member to attend! Please sign up and bring a friend to introduce them to our wonderful organization. Reservations can be made with Wayne Hebden (whebden@att.net) or send to his address at 6 Ravenwood Circle, O'Fallon, IL 62269. The cost this year is $50/person — this event is a bargain at that price! More details about confirmed guests will be provided as they are available.

Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32303Our annual SABR Day celebration will be in the Biletnikoff Room, in the back of the Fourth Quarter, and will include a discussion of Chapter plans and events for 2017 and our yearly trivia contest. After the doubtless fiercely contested struggle over hardball minutiae, we will have a viewing of the well-received documentary "Fastball," which was shown last year at SABR 46 in Miami. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, it is excellent and as insightful as it is entertaining. Hope you can make it out to join us in what promises to be a great afternoon for seamheads of all stripes.
