CS4RI Elementary Educator Pledge
TAKE THE PLEDGE!
I do hereby affirm my commitment to work with students, educators, families, and members of our community to offer quality computer science (CS) education experiences by engaging in a range of activities such as:

IMPLEMENTING THE COMPUTER SCIENCE FUNDAMENTALS CURRICULUM
CS4RI elementary educators work to implement the CS Fundamentals curriculum in their classroom by incorporating self-paced online and “unplugged” activities that expose students to fundamental CS concepts into students’ education experiences. CS4RI educators will leverage Code Studio, Code.org’s free online coding platform, to support this work.

EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO BE CREATIVE THINKERS
CS4RI elementary educators unleash students’ creativity by harnessing the power of CS to build interactive games, tell stories, and inspire students to pursue future CS education.

COLLABORATING WITH A TEAM OF EDUCATORS
CS4RI elementary educators collaborate with their peers and contribute to a community of practice around CS education for elementary school students.

SERVING AS A RESOURCE FOR MY COLLEAGUES
CS4RI elementary educators share their experiences with Code.org professional development and involvement in the CS4RI initiative and encourage their peers to take advantage of these training opportunities.

MAKING COMPUTER SCIENCE FUN!
CS4RI elementary educators make their CS classrooms inviting and accessible to all students and work to engage CS professionals to expose students to future CS-related career opportunities. CS4RI educators may consider driving community events such as Hour of Code to build excitement around CS education in their schools.
