MORNING DAILY MASS

All are invited to join the Augustinians for Daily Mass at 7:15 a.m. in the St. Augustine Chapel, which is the smaller Chapel located inside the Shrine Chapel.  Every Wednesday the 7:15 a.m. Mass will be celebrated in Latin.  All are welcome!

LOYOLA UNIVERSITY THEOLOGY OF HEALING EARTH IN ACTION

Loyola University Chicago is proud to announce the THEA Institute! The Theology of Healing Earth in Action (THEA) Institute will take place July 16-22, 2017 at Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus. Students will live on campus and study theology and environmental sustainability through experiments, service, and field work. All rising juniors and seniors in high school are eligible to apply! R.O.S.E. HOUR COMPLETION STATUS

All freshmen through juniors should be sure to check the R.O.S.E. Hour Completion Status sheets that are posted on the windows of The Campus Ministry Center.  If your name is highlighted in green, you have met your requirement for this year.  If your name is not highlighted then you must get your hours completed and entered into x2VOL ASAP.  If you think there is an error with your record please see Mr. McIntosh.

OAK LAWN PET SHOW

Do you like animals?  Then volunteer at this weekend's Oak Lawn Pet Show.  Help is needed walking and watering pets and with other miscellaneous jobs.  This is a good opportunity to earn the rest of your required R.O.S.E hours.  Multiple shifts are available.  Sign up sheets in Campus Ministry.

FRESHMEN/SOPHOMORE SPRING DANCE

Tickets for the Freshman/Sophomore Dance which is Friday, April 28th from 7-10p.m. are now on sale.  Tickets are $15 a couple of $7.50 for an individual.  You can purchase them during lunch periods or in The Campus Ministry Center from Mr. Blaszak.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Blaszak or Mr. Hagen.

PROM PAYMENT

Seniors!   Your last prom payment of $90 will be due Wednesday, April 26th if you have any questions see Ms. Yanez in room 211.  

11TH ANNUAL ART SHOW

The 11th Annual Art Show will be held on Wednesday, April 26 . This is the Spring Fine Arts Evening that includes both a concert and and an art exhibit. Times for the exhibit are Wednesday, 2:30 - 8:30. The exhibit will be open through the intermission of the Band concert and Thursday, April 27 - during the school day. Come and enjoy viewing the best work of the year in the visual arts. Admission is free

SPRING CONCERT

Come and support the band at it's annual Spring Concert Wednesday night at 7pm. The concert will feature performances by the Jazz Band and Honors Band and will conclude with a performance of the famous "New World Symphony". Student admission is free. Please come to support the Band program.

DRUMLINE AUDITION PRACTICE

For any interested in learning what it takes to be a member of the St. Rita Drumline, audition information and practice sessions will begin Tuesday after school at 3:00 and last for about 45 mins. Any who are interested are welcome to attend regardless of experience. Those interested who cannot make it should see Mr. Perlberg

MINIMESTER TRIP TO ROME AND PARIS

There will be a mandatory informational and enrollment meeting for students and their parents who are interested in attending the Minimester trip to Rome and Paris led by Ms. Brewick and Mr. Dolan. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, from 6-8pm in the Van Leuven Center. If you and your parents plan on attending, please RSVP via the link provided on the handout given to all freshmen and sophomores in their language classes.

SOCCER CLUB

The Soccer Club will meet tomorrow after school in Room 111.  Bring your stuff to play and any new member is welcome to join.

BASKETBALL BANQUET

All who played freshmen, Sophomore, and Varsity Basketball See Coach DeCesare to buy banquet ticket for your parents - All must attend the Banquet -Sunday May 7th at Beverly country Club at 4pm

FOOTBALL

All football players are reminded to place their orders for next season by Monday through the online store.  All varsity players are to be sure to have the mandatory items before camp starts in June.  More information can be found outside the football office.

SAINTS & SCHOLARS SUMMER THEOLOGY INSTITUTE

Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, IN is offering a week long experience during the week of July 16 and July 23. This opportunity is led by Holy Cross faculty, involves community based learning experiences with service hours and allows you to explore how theology relates to public health, human rights, sustainability, media, science, sports or business. The cost is $325 for the week with additional aid for those in need. Students who are interested in attending should see Mr. Blaszak.

CHARLES SCHWEIZER HISTORY ESSAY CONTEST

All students are eligible to participate in this statewide History essay contest dealing with an event associated with the War of 1812. The winning essay will receive $1,000, second place winner $200, and the third place winner $100. Any student interested should get the rules for the essay contest from Mrs. Nagel in the Guidance Center.

Entry deadline is May 30, 2017.

CHICAGO ENGINEERS FOUNDATION

Seniors who will study engineering in college and have received acceptance from an accredited undergraduate engineering program should apply for this renewable scholarship through the Chicago Engineers Foundation. This scholarship is also a networking opportunity in the engineering field. Applications are available at www.chicagoengineersfoundation.org/applications. See Mrs. Nagel if you have any questions. Application deadline is April 24, 2017.

KIDS CHANCE OF ILLINOIS

Must be a senior with financial need and be a child of a parent who has passed away or seriously injured as a result of a work related accident the meets the criteria of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act. Applications are available at www.kidschanceofillinois.com.
