Proposed projects for Desert SW OSE chapter include the following projects an GVCS components, Aquaponics Greenhouse, Solar Thermal units, Gasifier Power Cube integration with CHP applications for Aquaponics Greenhouse, water (reclamation, storage, collection, purification and desalinization tech) De-Desertfication integration and possibly algae production for CO2 sequestration, food and fuel uses. Other ag projects should include, emu, goat, talapia, catfish, crawfish and any other desert livestock.. Plus, Moringa Olifera.. Will post separate suggestion on the subject.

This is a Zone 10, 11 plant. However, it's amazing results in raising the standard of living in the 3rd world, if the reports can be believed are quite amazing. Anywhere this plant can be cultivated it should. It is an excellent feedstock for live stock and increased milk production in all mammals. It is one of the underpinning plants of Ayuervedic Medicine and I am attempting to grow a year round supply. It has multiple uses and can used as a biofuel stock. However, the oil is highly prized for cooking and perfume making.

Addendum to AZ Desert SW OSE Charter Chapter
I am working with a retired NASA engineer who wants bring his Heliostat into existence using the Open Source model. This is a low tech ver and is planned to be used for lighting, melting snow on buildings and providing warmth / ligth to green houses during winter mos. This too should be added to the Desert SW list of projects.

Have a place where you ask for the help you need. And make it findable. I've had some problems re-finding things I've seen on your webpages. Some people who've looked at your pages may be software-only types, who like your ideas but don't have other ways to contribute. Include Q&A on Workshops, and in general. For example, it's unclear to me if the new lifetracs are still being run by the powercube(s?) or not. Specific Q&A on specific workshops would be nice too, and usefully linked off of the pages themselves.

Hi Tom, I have been looking over the LifeTrac6 and wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind? Right now it looks like a really great front end loader for farm & construction work! (The whole OSE model is really blowing me away BTW!!!) What I want to know is.... 1.] Are there plans to develop dedicated PTO unit(s) mounted on the LifeTrac? Either the front, back of both? I think the option of a PTO is important. Perhaps a unit built into the LifeTrac Power cub to give it incredible versatility...? I also like the option/idea of a PTO in the front of the tractor as well. 2.] How about a 3 point hitch for implements towed behind the LifeTrac? Perhaps a combo unit designed along with No.#1...? 3.] Does the operator cab allow mounting of the drivers seat in a higher position? I dislike sitting low to the ground and believe "field of view" is crucial while using the bucket or pulling and implement. In my experience the better I can see when on a tractor the more efficient, quick and accurate my work is and that leads to less wasted time, money and wear & tear on man and machine. What an amazing & exciting project Marcin has begun! Dave

The extruder has NON-solid objects and I cannot create fusion. We have to work with only solid objects. I spent 1.5 hours trying to fix it but I cannot. Especially the nozzle cannot be converted to solid because it has open wire and not complete face. I tried to import another extruder that I have but the contraints are creating a big mess. Anyway, can you ask him if he can make solid all the parts (especially the nozzle)

10/13/2022 20:22:46Messaging, 2011 from Jesse
Hi Marcin, I would like to begin by saying that I support what you are doing and believe in your general goals. However, I do have some advice/criticism. In rhetoric and skills, the work you are doing differs from familiar "back to the land" movement projects, but it is difficult to see a significant difference in what you have actually done. Your main focus seems to have been (understandably) developing your own space and home and the tools that help you to do that. What I am waiting to see and would be more open to actively supporting is: actual open source hardware projects which means having detailed plans, instructions, documentation and a way for people to contribute on their own time; outreach to get people who need and want this technology started; a way that other people can benefit from your work in their own environment. I realize that you are very much still in an experimental phase with what you are doing, so these things are probably just a bit out of your reach right now. I am also slightly turned off by your by some of your rhetoric. Creating terms like "Factor 10 engineering" seems like a distraction. One, anything that you are buying from a large company is already at least 4-6 times more expensive than the production cost. Add this that you are making very trimmed down, simple designs on your own, and it is unsurprising that you achieve these costs. This is DIY. I am wary of ideas like "buying out at the bottom". It seems like you advocate dropping out of society. I want to know how we build up society. How does this play out in an urban environment? I want to enrich my community, not leave it and go start a farm; how do I do that? Ultimately, you are only able to do what you do because of the historical steps our society has gone through, so do not marginalize yourself. I think you should spend more time talking about what you have done and what people can do right now rather than talking about what you want to do. I see lot of trying to convince people of your ideas or outlining this "ecology" on your website. Saying things like "And we'll have cheap solar energy" sounds good, but it does not mean much. I have seen several people talk about building systems like the one you are planning, but you can not simply say "we'll have a good solution for storing energy" because you don't and it is not easy. These are just some quick thoughts and could be articulated better. Please take this as helpful criticism and not an insult to your work at all. Best of luck to you. -Jesse
