2014 Van Wert County Farm Bureau Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Van Wert County Farm Bureau will award scholarships of $500 for the college year 2014-2015. The scholarship award recipients will be recognized at the Van Wert County 2014 Farm Bureau Annual Meeting and will receive a scholarship check after grades are submitted from their fall quarter/semester in school.

The Van Wert County Farm Bureau will select recipients from the applications that meet the mandatory criteria. A scholarship selection committee, appointed by the Van Wert County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees, will evaluate the scholarship applications and present their recommendations for the awards to the Board for approval.  From the applications, the committee will evaluate each candidate's academic performance, agriculture and Farm Bureau involvement and activities.

The purpose of the scholarship program is:
To financially assist and reward a college-bound high school senior and/or college enrolled student who intends to further their education.
To recognize the present and future scholastic ability of young adults.
To invest in the post-secondary education and career planning of young adults.
To select recipients based upon merit, abilities and accomplishments.


SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Applicant must be a current paid member of the Van Wert County Farm Bureau when applying for the scholarship, or have a parent or guardian who is a current paid Van Wert County Farm Bureau member.

Applicant must be a current high school senior or be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student majoring in an agriculture-related program at a university, college or technical school; or come from an agriculture related background; or been involved as an active participant in an ag related service for at least one year.

Minimum grade point average : 2.50/4.00

Graduating high school seniors must submit a copy of their first quarter/semester grades from the university, college or technical school they are attending to the Van Wert Farm Bureau office before they will be granted the scholarship funds.  (Typically in December)

College students must submit a copy of their next quarter/semester grades from the university, college or technical school where they are currently enrolled to the Van Wert County Farm Bureau office before they will be granted the scholarship funds. (Typically in December)

Previous recipients are eligible with all information submitted being current.

Applicants must attend the Van Wert County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting to receive the scholarship, the 2014 Van Wert County Annual meeting will be held in September and scholarship recipients will get an official invitation to the meeting.
