To create and sustain a comfortable space of dialogue on issues within underrepresented communities, particularly the Asian/Pacific American (A/PA) community, through discussion and personal development to achieve the following:
>Empowerment of the self and others in pursuit of future aspirations
>Maturation of leadership skills to cultivate effective leadership and action
>Identification of diverse subject-positions that create a self-motivated experience
>Engagement with and fuller interaction within the greater NYU community in issues relating to race, culture, and identity
APA BRIDGE (Asian Pacific Americans Building Relationships to Inspire Diversity, Growth, and Empowerment) seeks to include a diverse group of student leaders from various backgrounds (race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, spirituality, academic study, and socioeconomic level). Applicants with a range of experiences are encouraged to apply. Asian/Pacific American heritage is not required, but an interest in issues affecting A/PA communities is key. Be honest with your answers, keeping responses to within 250 words per question. Interviews may also be requested.
