North Canton Jaycees July Fourth Parade
This year's parade will take place Tuesday, July 4, 2017, beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the parking lot adjacent to Memorial Stadium along Seventh Street. More information about the parade route and logistics can be found at

Parade rules and regulations:
All those operating motor vehicles in the parade must possess a valid driver’s license and liability insurance.

The behavior of any animals entered in the parade is the sole responsibility of the parade entrant. Animals must be well-behaved at all times, especially around other animals. The parade entrant is responsible for any “cleanup” necessary from the animal walking in the parade.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on or in any parade entry vehicle. Participants, including those on foot, may not consume alcohol during the parade.

The North Canton Jaycees reserves the right to bar, at any time, any entries that don’t adhere to these rules. Entrants can also be removed for refusing to follow instructions from police or parade officials.

Entries must avoid content that discriminates against, is offensive to or disparages any person or group on the basis of race, gender, national origin, disability, political viewpoint, age, religion, sexual orientation or personal characteristics. Entries should limit their displays to positive identification of their group and a positive artistic theme and message. The North Canton Jaycees reserves the final decision on which entries are accepted in the parade.

Children are invited to decorate their bicycles and ride as a group in the parade. A parent must accompany the child(ren). Please arrive at the parade starting point (the parking lot) by 9:30 a.m. Children need not register, but groups will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Children on bikes must wear helmets.

Candy is the only thing we allow to be distributed during the parade. Someone must walk on foot to hand it out. It can't be thrown from a moving vehicle in order to prevent children from running into the street to retrieve it.

No person or group may use the parade as a means to campaign for any local, state or national candidate seeking elected office. This includes any distribution of literature, signage on vehicles, messaging on clothing, etc.

"Hold harmless" statement: In exchange for the opportunity to participate in the parade, the undersigned and all participants of this entry agree to follow all rules and instructions given by the North Canton Jaycees and local police. The entrant and all participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the North Canton Jaycees and related entities, all agents, and volunteers of said organizations, from any claim or expense of whatever kind or nature arising from activities as a parade participant of the undersigned organization and any of its representatives or individual participants.
