This survey aims at building a historical memory bank related to the (University of) North Carolina School of the Arts. The immediate occasion for this is the approach of the School's 50th Anniversary.
In 2014, the exhibition "THIS SCHOOL, THIS CITY: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS IN WINSTON-SALEM" will open at the New Winston Museum (http://newwinston.org).
Co-curating the exhibition will be Mike Wakeford, a historian and a faculty member in the Division of Liberal Arts at UNCSA, and Chris Jordan, Director of Education and Programming at the New Winston Museum. And you! As you will see, elements of the survey ask for your help in shaping the exhibition's content.
How long will it take you to complete the survey? It depends on how much you want to share, but you can offer feedback of great value in as few as 5 minutes. If for any reason you don't want to answer a particular question, you may skip it and move to the next one.
**IMPORTANT! YOUR RESPONSES TO THIS SURVEY WILL NEVER BE ATTACHED TO YOUR NAME IN ANY PUBLIC MANNER WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. Moreover, the survey gives you the choice of answering anonymously.
Who will see your responses? Survey data will only be publicly shared—via museum exhibition or online data display—in aggregated and/or anonymous form. The co-curators are the only individuals who will work directly with the survey responses. Only aggregated data, excluding individual names, will be shared with the institution for the improvement of (U)NCSA’s programs and services.
In advance, thank you very much for taking a few minutes to offer some of your historical impressions. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mike Wakeford at firstname.lastname@example.org.
