Introduction to IBM Watson
With the public release of its cognitive technologies, IBM Watson now provides journalists, academics, students, and small organizations with access to advanced computational techniques that have never been available to them before.

On April 13 and 14, the Parsons Institute for Information Mapping will host a lecture/demonstration and two hands-on workshops that will introduce you to the Watson technologies and show you how to use them in your own work. These include machine learning, natural language processing, image recognition, concept analysis, relationship extraction, personality and tone analysis, real-time news data tools, speech tools, and more.

The sessions will be led by IBM Watson Group Academic Engagement Specialist Armen Pischdotchian.

These events are free, although space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis with priority given to members of The New School community.
