Give and Get Policies (updated 11/3/17)

$2,000 per family annual commitment due by June 30th of the current school year (7/1/2017-6/30/2018)

Ways to Fulfill the Commitment

  1. Cash Donations
  1. Pay in full
  2. Annual Giving Pledges (dollar for dollar when paid)
  3. All cash donations are dollar for dollar when paid
  1. Includes in memory of or in honor of
  2. In kind donations are not included

  1. Scholarship Dinner
  1. Purchase ad in scholarship dinner ad book and received dollar for dollar credit once the ad is paid
  2. Sell ads in scholarship dinner ad book
  1. Dollar for dollar credit once the ad is paid for ads solicited from non CTA parents
  2. Solicitor receives credit for volunteer time if the ad is solicited from a CTA parent
  1. Scholarship dinner silent auction “winner” (considered cash donation – dollar for dollar once paid)
  2. Solicitor for silent auction items receive volunteer time (not value of item)
  3.  CTA parent owned businesses giving in kind certificates or items are treated as in kind donations and not given give and get credit
  4.  Soliciting ads is given credit for volunteer time (the dollar donation follows the same guidelines as soliciting ads)
  1. If the listing is from a non CTA parent the solicitor may receive dollar for dollar credit once the listing is paid

  1.  Volunteer        
  1.  Volunteer time credited at $25 per hour
  1. in school time - volunteers must sign in and out on the volunteer sign in sheet
  1. if a volunteer forgets to sign out, 1 hour of credit will be issued toward give and get
  1. Students can help fulfill parents give and get hours once they have completed their community service and are signed off by Eliza Delman – The student must sign in and out on the volunteer form
  2. Athletic department support (with the exception of fundraisers) will be given credit for volunteer time (ie, officiating at games, coaching if not on payroll, manning the door, staffing the concession stand, assisting Matt, etc.
  3. Time spent on PTO business is given credit for volunteer time
  4. Co-sponsorship of Rosh Chodesh Luncheons count $ for $ upon receipt of payment
  5. Board members are not given credit for board meetings, however, if they serve on a committee the committee time counts
  6. Volunteer time outside of school building should be reported via email to gandg@torahacademy.org

  1. Not Included in Give and Get

  1. Fundraisers for athletic, class trip and PTO fundraisers do not count toward give and get commitment.  Any fundraiser not originating through the business office does not count toward give and get.

  1. Faculty – anything within your job responsibilities does not count toward give and get; anything unrelated to your position counts $25/hour

                

Give and Get issues not addressed above will be decided by the administrators on a individual basis.  All give and get policies will be reviewed annually and are subject to change.  Give and Get statements will be mailed monthly.
