PATERSON: "Friends of Higgins" Guest List
Each year the Higgins Labor Program partners with the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center to celebrate and commemorate International Workers Day with the screening and discussion of a recent film that confronts the connections between work and lived experience, identity, politics, and/or social justice.

Our 6th Annual May Day Movie will be Paterson (2016; directed by Jim Jarmusch), a slice-of-life about a bus driver and poet in Paterson, New Jersey, starring Michiana’s own Adam Driver.

Screening on Friday, April 28, at 6:30 pm, the film will be introduced by Dan Graff, Director of the Higgins Labor Program, and followed by a 30-minute panel discussion featuring Valerie Sayers, Professor of English, Stephen Fredman, Professor of English, and Christine Becker, Associate Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre.
