FCDD Rehearsal and Performance Policy

REHEARSAL and PERFORMANCE POLICY 1. Students and community dancers may be involved in only three dances in the Five College Dance Department at any one time, whether as a performer or choreographer. This limitation is designed to prevent rehearsal/performance conflicts and burn-outs. Only two of these three dances may be faculty dances. This policy does not apply to dances being rehearsed for classwork. 2. At the beginning of the rehearsal process choreographers are responsible for preparing a written rehearsal schedule (including tech week schedule and performance dates) for all performers, to insure clear communications about the amount of time required. 3. Performers may not drop out of a dance after the second rehearsal unless permission is given by the choreographer and/or artistic director of that concert or faculty advisor for that choreographic project. Please consult immediately with the faculty advisor or artistic director if seemingly insurmountable conflicts arise. 4. When needed, all student performers must contribute at least three hours of crew work to prepare for the concert. 5. All performers in a concert must strike after the final performance of that concert. (Guest performers may be exempted from this requirement.) Failure to follow the conditions of this policy may make a student or community dancer ineligible to audition for or perform in any Five College sponsored dance concert in the following semester.

The cast list will be posted at all schools by Monday, September 10th and at Each student must email the choreographer in whose piece (s)he is cast to accept or decline by Wednesday, September 12th.
