It's MPT's hope that a number of veterans will be willing to sit down with a student and share stories, remembrances, and lessons learned from the Vietnam War. These students may or may not have a grandparent who served in the military and very likely don't know much about Vietnam and its lasting impact on the lives of men and women who fought. Students need to actually meet a veteran from the Vietnam War who can personalize and humanize the Vietnam War for these students.
During the 30- to 60-minute sessions, each student will videotape a live interview with his/her assigned Vietnam veteran in a quiet room. Prior to the interview, veterans and students will sign release forms that will grant MPT the right to archive the oral history videos at the Maryland Historical Society.
If you're interested in participating in an oral history collection session, please complete the form below and tell us which location is best for you. Many of the dates and times remain flexible. We'll be in touch with specific information based on the location that you choose
If you are an educator and have a classroom of students interested in the service learning project please note that we are interested in scheduling additional oral history session locations to meet your needs. We look forward to hearing from you!
