***Please note that the Freshmen Leadership Program meetings occur weekly at 5:00 pm beginning in the Spring. You must be able to attend weekly meetings to serve in this capacity.
As part of the PAL program, you will be asked to participate in the Shared Student Leadership Academy. The mission of this Academy is to bring local public school students (5th graders) and college students together to build mentoring opportunities. The Academy will also empower the lives of all students (5th graders and college students) through leadership development, problem solving and creative thinking skills through school based enrichment/improvement projects.
Through this workshop, the public school students will identify school-based enrichment projects. The college students would mentor the public school students though the implementation of the projects and then visit with their mentees at the elementary school during the academic year.
The sessions will take place either on campus or at an elementary school in the area from 10am- 1pm on the following dates: 11/6, 11/7, 1/17, 1/18, 1/19, 1/23, 2/7, 2/13, 2/21, 2/23, 3/21, 3/23
