www.breathe-initiative.orgThis event is chaired by internet visionary and investor Yossi Vardi.
Location: Biomedical Engineering Building, Technion. Parking is available on premises.
This September a global event will take place simultaneously across three continents:
- MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
- Imperial College Advanced Hackspace (ICAH) in London, UK
- Technion: Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel
Dubbed the BREATHE Respiratory Hackathons, these events will bring together programmers, designers, technicians, engineers, patients, doctors, entrepreneurs, and innovators to develop transformative tools and devices to enhance respiratory wellness and treatment.
Teams will be given free rein to explore solutions to many of the problems respiratory sufferers face daily. That may include integrating new technology, making existing equipment more user friendly, connecting medical devices to other IoT devices and to cloud for big data analysis, or completely rethinking the status quo and challenge the respiratory industry to innovate around patient-centred wellness.
Prizes up to $3,000 will be awarded to the top innovations!
These Hackathons are presented by Novartis Pharma in association with the COPD Foundation, following the highly successful COPD Crowdshaped event these two organizations ran in June 2015:
