MISSIONS: Social Justice and Ecological Responsibility (7195) Grades 9-12
(one unit) Elective Course Offered On Campus Only
This is one elective course part of a larger four year curriculum designed as a theoretical and practical introduction to the nature and implications of Christian mission. The purpose of these courses are to explore the mission mandate of Jesus Christ and how Christians are implementing it today, as well as to equip students to actively and joyfully participate in Christian mission. All students in this class will play a major role in the planning and organizing of Missions events and activities. The content for this particular course emphasizes the effects of original sin on all facets of social life (economic, political, historical, cultural, spiritual, legislative, ecological etc.), as well as God redemptive work to restore His kingdom and His call for us to participate. As a Theology elective course, the Missions Class is in addition to, not a substitute for the required Theology 1, 2, 3, and 4 courses. This class may be repeated for credit. This class may also be taken for CR/NC (see Academic section for details.)
