PLEASE BE ADVISED: Although we will continue to accept alternate transportation request, we will be happy to consider your request. Please keep in mind that, in order for the drivers to be able to safely learn the routes and help all the new students in the first few weeks of school, we will not be able to start considering all the requests for changes until August 30.
GUIDELINESBus routes shall be based upon the verified residency of record for eligible students. However, eligible students requesting transportation services within their school attendance area to or from a location other than their verified residency of record may be permitted to receive such services on a space available, first come, first serve basis. Parent/Guardian must make application to the Transportation Department to receive route change approval.
The following conditions must be met to receive approval:1. Pre-determined schedule for current school year OR summer school2. Alternate route must be located in the same attendance area as the verified residency of record for the student3. Request does not cause bus route to exceed bus capacity4. Minimum of 2 school days advance notice is required
Alternate Route Services may be discontinued if:1. Bus capacity limit is reached with non-alternate route students 2. Student receives a misconduct slip
Bus routes will not be altered nor stops added to accommodate alternate route requests.
Alternate route requests will not be approved for birthday parties, sports practices, scout meetings, visit a friend, jobs, parent’s place of employment, any non-school extracurricular activities, etc.
If approved, alternate route requests are valid for the current school year only. A new request is required for summer school.
