- Tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance of the requested date- Guided Tours are available to small school groups of up to 30 students- Tours are led by a member of the Lawndale staff, and last up to 45 minutes, depending on the exhibitions- Lawndale does not charge an admission or tour fee
We encourage educators/coordinators of tour groups to preview the exhibitions for content in person. Lawndale exhibits contemporary work that may not always be suitable for all audiences.
Lawndale Art Center is located at 4912 Main St. at Rosedale in the Museum District. Free parking is available in our lot located at the corner of Travis and Rosedale.
Lawndale Art Center is a non-profit alternative space for the exhibition of contemporary works in all media, unique in its focus on Houston area artists. Founded in 1979, Lawndale has owned its present location on Main Street in Houston's Museum District since 1993. Lawndale is supported in part by individual donations.
