Choosing a name for the project currently known as FoodNet
The project to build a membership platform for food coops and other cooperative organisations has started out with the working title "FoodNet". This was never meant to be the real name of the project. It was just a descriptive title to put on the project grant application.

So, we've been dancing around this for a while now, and it's time to settle on a proper name for the project. Both in order to buy and set up a proper top-level domain name, but also to build an identity (logo, design, etc.) for the project.

So here is a list of some of the project names that have been suggested over the couple of months, and the related domain names that it would be possible to buy.

Take your pick!
What should be the proper name (and URL) for project FoodNet? *
(see explanations of the various choices below)
What the hell?
FoodNet – if it works, why fix it?

Potluck – "A potluck is a gathering of people where each person or group of people contributes a dish of food prepared by the person or the group, to be shared among the larger gathered group."

Sammenskud – The Danish word for Potluck.

Eggplant – An eggplant looks elegant, dark and shiny. Easy to make a good logo. Is a suitably generic name to not only communicate "food coop", but still has a clear reference to the root of the project. Has 8 letters, which is a magic number for project and domain names.

Helpo – It's Esperanto for "aid" or "support"

Interhelpo – it's Esperanto for "mutual aid" – a term from organizational theory:

CoHub – A combination of Co-op and Hub. Get it?

Tjans – specific Danish word for a shift, a limited amount of work (like the shifts members take in the food coops)

Stint – the closest English equivalent to Tjans.

ShiftHub – A hub for coordinating shifts.

Coopify – like spotify or shopify, but for coops.
