School Counselors of Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, and Portage Counties in collaboration with the Mahoning Valley Hospital Foundation, the Mahoning County ESC, and Turning Technologies proudly present:

Digital Danger

An evening for parents and students.

Make sure that your kids are not one click away from damaging their reputation or harming career and educational aspirations.

As County School Counselors who work with children at all ages and levels, we have identified social media outlets as a constant threat to the safety of our youth.  Because of this, we reached out to the “Digital Dangers” Program, the #1 provider in the state of Ohio for digital safety training. Their mission is dedicated to the prevention of Internet related crimes by equipping students and parents with the prevention principles, strategies and tools to safely navigate the digital world.

Please join us as we explore some of the newest dangers in our digital world from the lens of the student, educator and the parent. Presenters, Officer Don Stanko and Dr. Tim Conrad, will share what they have learned from the over 41,000 students they presented to last year and discuss the following:

  • The newest Digital Dangers: anonymous, camouflage and hidden apps
  • What does it mean when there is a felony on a student's phone?
  • Update on trends in Tween and Teen social media use
  • Digital parenting tips
  • When and how to involve law enforcement

Please plan to join us on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:00 at:
