The purpose of the SAFE Liaisons at Iowa State University is to educate our fraternity and sorority community on issues affecting LGBTQ students to create a more welcoming and accepting environment for all students regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. These issues include, but are not limited to, race, ethnicity, masculinity, femininity, heterosexism, homophobia, mental health, anti-hazing and sexual assault.
SAFE Liaisons will commit to:
Leadership positions from January – December 2015
Attending a retreat in beginning of Spring 2015 semester
Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings and discussions
Plan and implement Greek Community wide events/initiatives/workshops
Collaborate with various offices and staff on campus to educate members on peer to peer dialogue and intervention through a social justice lens
