11/16/2012 7:21:58Tristen SlamowitzC Lunch43Overall I feel like it went well but it could have gone better. I feel that we effectively presented our information and we reached our goals and objectives however we could have been better prepared on our topic and ready for questions that were asked.4Our objective was that the student would understand how to implement the flipped classroom.Yes we definietly achieved our objectives because using the scenario as an assessment of the students understanding they were capable of creating a flipped classroom lesson.AmberStanI learned that preparing a lesson takes a lot effort and you can't just throw something together. Definitely, the data helped in proving our point and the needs analysis helped us to figure out what topic we wanted to teach on. However, it was difficult to make sure that we were altering either in order to fit our ideas.I learned that it is very difficult to grab and hold attention. It takes a lot of presentation skills to feel completely comfortable in front of a group of strangers and you need to act naturally and as an expert on the topic. Again if I were to do this lesson again in the future I would make sure I was better prepared for questions that the students would have had.

11/16/2012 7:24:28Summer LawsonA Lunch44I think it went pretty well. We were pretty nervous and I think that it might have showed, but I think our presentation skills are pretty solid. I think the teachers enjoyed hearing what we had to say and discussing with others. 4The teacher will better understand the life of a student I do think that we achieved our objectives because I think the teachers really listened and related to us as students. I think they now better understand what it is like to be a student. Meghan Secrist I could have worked on presenting more.I learned that you can't procrastinate because your internet provider may have issues in your area and you can't get on the internet to work on your infogram. I also learned that you have to consider who you are teaching to better reach them. To do this differently, I would come up with survey questions earlier and do more to reach more students. The data proved really helpful and helped prevent us from coming off as complaining. It was also good to present solid data to the teachers so they would know it wasn't just opinion. The needs analysis was sort of helpful, but I think we knew the basics of what we needed to do and the analysis just gave us a little push. I learned that you have to be confident, and if you are not you have to at least act confident. I also learned that there will always be someone trying to trip you up and point out flaws and that you have to respond to them respectfully and confidently. I also learned that knowing who you are teaching is extremely helpful.

11/16/2012 7:24:33Mallory PowersB Lunch43I think it went fairly well. I think that our advantage was that we had the students' perspective in mind. I believe that if the same topic was presented by teachers it would have seemed less effective.4To inform and educate teachers about the implementation of social media inside and outside of the classroom in order for them to truly consider utilizing itI do believe that we achieved our objectives because I have talked to teachers, and even if they are not going to use social media they were at least informed and educated about it.CalebNickI learned that it requires an extreme amount of team and group work in order to accomplish a goal. It requires a lot of planning ahead of time together and I find it extremely useful to have a googledoc on which everyone was able to type and edit. The data DEFINITELY helped and I believe that our presentation would have seemed useless without it. The needs analysis did provide us with some ammunition for our topics, but we never actually used them in the actual presentation. The needs analysis helped us more in the planning portion of the presentation.I learned that no matter how many times you rehearse it or how much you pay attention to detail, the actual presentation will be completely different. Once you actually get the technology up and running, teachers in front of you, and a time limit, everything about the presentation changes. Hopefully for the better!

11/16/2012 7:24:36Amber WhiteC Lunch43I think that it could have gone better but it went okay. Everyone in the group knew there part but think we should have a little bit more knowledge about our topic going into it. 4To have the teacher understand a flipped classroom and be able to implement it in there own classroom.Yes, people are very excited about flipping there classroom and after evaluating them they all understood what a flipped classroom is. TristenEthan That it can be very challenging but if you are extremely detailed in your lesson it can be easy to implement and very effective. Yes, I think that data really supported our needs analysis and the data presented to the teacher really helped show them how effective a flipped classroom could be. I learned that I would really enjoy it especially after having experience with it and practicing more with it.

11/16/2012 7:27:03Heather GammonB Lunch34I think it went well. Teachers have come up to me and told me that we did a great job and that they're definitely going to start using social media. I definitely think we could have been more enthusiastic about it though. Enthusiasm probably would have made our presentation more effective. 4For teachers to consider using social media outside of the classroom. We did acheive our objectives. Our main goal was to give the teachers more information about social media and to get them to understand why it is effective and to consider using it. The teachers asked questions about our topic and showed interest in using social media. Mallory

11/16/2012 7:27:10Eleanor LeeA Lunch42I think it went well except for the fact my group basically pushed me in a corner be making do the technology peice. I felt my personality got sent to the background.4The teacher would develope a better relationship and teaching enviroment by getting to know their studentsI believe we did because at the end it felt like teachers were open to the idea.Ashlyn and Megan tiedAlishaI learned that preparing a lesson is work and involves a lot me research than anticipated.Yes, our data was our presentation so the needs analysis was helpful and the data was EVERYTHING!!I don't know I didn't get a chance really, I was sent to be in the background and only minorly talk at the end. I feel besides Flipcharts my talents are wasted and hidden and it is because... I don't really know but i wish i knew

11/16/2012 10:28:44Danielle ToneyC Lunch33I think it went well and the teachers were engaged in our activity. 3That teachers would know how to implement a flipped classroom Yes, by the end of the lesson I felt like all teachers knew what a flipped classroom was and how to use it. Amber WhiteThere wasn't one person that didn't do anything You can't prepare the lesson the night before. You have to be really prepared and know what you are talking about to be successful. Yes, it helped us know exactly what we needed to incorperatre in our lesson. Even though it can be stressful and nervracking you have to be comfortable in front of a group and just relax.

11/16/2012 10:30:21Meghan SecristA Lunch23I think we needed way more preparation time; we should have had more practice, we were not well prepared. We also werene't prepared for the extra time or the questions the teachers were asking us, and I wasn't sure how to respond. 3to provide the teachers with data that will help them better understand their students; to facilitate discussion for the teachers on how to accommodate their lessons after seeing the dataNo, we did not, because our data did not give the teachers anything to use to accommodate their lessons. They only learned that the students get enough sleep, and are procrastinating terribly and that's why students complain of too much homework. The end result was an unspoken conclusion that the students were the ones that needed to accommodate the way they did school, not the teachers. Hadley CarterI think we all should have done more, collaboratively. We were too individual in our work; I think we as a group should have accomplished more togetherIt's difficult, and a lesson needs to be FLEXIBLE!No, I don't believe either of them did, because we surveyed the wrong questions. I think the heart of the problem, though, was our topic. We lacked a clear direction, unlike the other groups who could point to a goal and say "THAT'S what we need to accomplish". Teaching teachers is hard. It was strange because it wasn't a typical teacher-student class, so it's difficult to say what I learned about teaching because I felt like I was more a presenter than a teacher. But I learned that clarification is super important.

11/16/2012 10:30:31Heather GammonNickPlanning a lesson definitely takes a lot of work. There are so many details that you have to think about. You also have to be very specific in what your goals and plans are. The data and needs analysis were extremely helpful. The needs analysis helped us stay on track and figure out exactly what we should talk about. The data helped support our lesson. You really have to know what you're talking about and you have to be enthusiastic about it. If you aren't convinced that it's the best lesson ever then the audience won't be convinced either.

11/16/2012 10:31:18Meredith MothersheadB Lunch44I think it went very well. The teachers seemed to enjoy learning about social media and about the potential for its use in education. 4Not to make the teachers use social media, but to inform them of the possibilities that were available with it's use.Yes, the feedback that I have heard so far was very positive. I know that Mrs. Rumford wants me to help her create a Facebook page for her class. I also know that we put a lot of the stipulations to rest.Mallory. She did a TON of work like making the handout and organizing the GoogleDocI think that Nick could have done more even though he did very well during the presentation.I learned that you have to overplan so that there is no lag time. I also learned that it is not always better to do a "hands-on" activity because that would not have been as effective in our lesson in particular.Yes! I feel that the data made our presentation much more effective and allowed teachers to see the need for incorporating social media.I learned that you have to be conversational but not act like you don't care. I learned the ways to plan a lesson so it is fast pace to keep the students attention.

11/16/2012 10:32:58Heather BurtonC Lunch45It went very well, with a few minor problems. We definetely could have prepared better for possible questions.3The students will understand how to implement a flipped classroom.Yes. The teachers that we taught definetly understood the Flipped Classroom and know how to impliment it in their classes.Amber - Her infographic was great and her presenting was good too.Stan and DanieleIt is important to be prepared beforehand so that you do not get stumped by student questions. Yes. The data helped us to better understand our audience and therefore better know how to teach them. The data about students helped us make an infographic which was useful in teaching. It can be really awkward when nobody in the class answers the question that you ask.

11/16/2012 10:34:23Floyd JohnsonB Lunch45i think we did really well and flowed better than i thought it would4to get the teachers to understand and consider using social media to better our educationI believe we did because they all seemed very informed and focused on what we had to sayMalloryFloydit takes way more time than what we had if it is to be completely perfect but you do have to work with what you have to make it the best possibleyesthat it is way tougher than you think

11/16/2012 10:34:53Nick MajzerB Lunch44I thoguht our lesson went well. The teachers were engaged and interested in what we were teaching. Overall very well.4Get teachers to consider using social media in the classroomI think we did acheive our objective because after the presentation my 5th period teacher told me she wanted to use twitter for her class.MalloryKristen A.I learned that you have to know your material before you can teach it to someone and data is very important.Yes. we relied heavily on our data and the teachers liked itBe enthusiastic and have lots of energy.

11/16/2012 10:35:04Stan DavisC Lunch53Our group handled it very well and profesionally and it went smoothly because everybody knew what they were talking about and was confident4Get teachers to understand what a flipped classroom isWe did because we presented our info clearly to the teachers and got our point across effectivelyTristen SlamowitzStan/Heathernot as easy as it may seem and there is alot of planning and designing you must do if you want to be fully preparedfor the most part it didhave to be able to free ball if needed to

11/16/2012 12:06:21Ashlyn CooleyA Lunch33I think it went pretty well. We didn't manage our time as well as possible and didn't have enough time to practice presenting, but those problems aside we had a really solid project.3Teachers will form better relationships with their students by understanding the other aspects of a student's life.I think we achieved letting teachers know about student life because all of our data of information we thought was necessary was present.Meghan, Hadley, SummerSophie and AlishaI learned that it's a lot harder than it looks and takes more time than expected. We relied on our data, but the needs analysis did almost nothing for us.I learned that teaching teachers is much more intimadating than teaching students.
17
11/16/2012 13:17:32Jessica DymonC Lunch43I think it went pretty well - I would have liked for us to do less presentation style and more flipped classroom style, but it's hard and impractical to get teachers to do work at home. I think they understood our lesson and left with new ideas, which was our goal.5TO have teachers walking away knowing and wanting to implement a flipped classroom.I think we did because the teachers seemed genuenly interested and wanted to try it, however it was hard to measure.TristenI don't know, we all did equalit's really difficult and it takes a lot of pre-planning and time managementyes, very.I learned that it's a little nerve-wracking because you want the students to be engaged and enjoy your lesson, but you want them to learn as well.

11/16/2012 17:32:15Ethan SteeleC Lunch44I think it went very well because we had a great topic that we presented and we presented it in a very good way. I felt as though all of the teachers were participating in the lesson and found the lesson very intriguing 5The students will be able to understand what a flipped classroom really is and the students will be able to implement a flipped classroom in a lesson I feel as though we did achieve our objectives because when I left the presentation, I felt as though the teachers that were in our lesson fully grasped the concept of what a flipped classroom is and will, in the future, be able to implement a flipped lesson in their own classroom Tristen Stan I learned that preparing is not an overnight thing and that it actually takes some time, thought, and skill to put a great lesson together Yes, our data and needs analysis proved helpful because it gave us a basis to use when trying to decide on a lesson and how we should present that lesson I learned that teaching in front of a group takes some skill, is definitely more difficult than I thought, and really is a little bit scary at first. Once, I got the hang of it, I felt i could teach in front of a group without a doubt

11/17/2012 11:17:17Kristin T AndersonB Lunch43I think that our presentation went well however I do think that it could have been one step better. I personally think that when we rehearsed we did better because when it came to the actual presentation, we relied too much on our notecards..well some of us. I think that we lacked some of the umph that we practiced. 4We had two objectives. The first was to get the teachers to understand how the social media will collaborate with education to benefit the students and teachers. The second was to get the teachers to at least consider using social media in the classroom. I personally think that we did achieve our secon dobjective because teachers came up to members of our group to tell us that they would possibly use one of the social medias however we could have further taught each social media but that was just a time issue where we did not have enough time to. CalebFloyd I learned that you have to have to know everything about what you are teaching to know how to prepare the lesson. Planning the lesson will fall in place once you have all of the needed information. I also learned that in the middle of preparing the lesson if you do not reevaluate the overall point of your lesson that you may not completely transfer the information to your "students" as well or that the overall topic will get lost. They both were extremely helpful because without the data and needs analysis we would not have had abything to back our ideas up. I learned that you have to be on point and know what you are talking about completely. Also to not let one mistake mess up your overall presentation.

11/18/2012 23:37:09Kristin W. AndersonB Lunch55Overall, I think that it went very well because the teachers asked good questions about the information we provided and my group answered the questions pretty well.5The teachers will be informed on the educational value and use of multiple forms of social media.Yes, because we explained the educational uses of social media, how each one worked, and answered teachers' questions.MalloryNickI learned that much more thought, effort, and time goes into a lesson than I originally thought. Our data and needs analysis did prove helpful. The data provided insight as to which sites are most popular and widely used. The needs analysis informed us of issues that would need to be addressed and what the social media would need to be able to do.I learned that teaching in front of a group can be very nerve racking beforehand, but once I get up and begin teaching, it's not nearly as bad as I originally thought.
