The Family & Educator Resource Center (FERC), under the auspices of Family and Community Engagement, maintains a list for parents/guardians of private tutoring services. The list is comprised of current HCPS employees (e.g., instructional personnel, teaching assistants, substitute teachers) and  recent HCPS retirees. The FERC tutor list is a referral document offered by the FERC for the convenience of the tutor and parent.

The placement on the FERC tutor list does not serve as an endorsement or recommendation of the tutor. Furthermore, placement on the FERC tutor list is not an acknowledgement of the individual tutor’s qualifications or ability to tutor.

All arrangements are between the family and the individual tutor. Henrico County Public Schools shall not be liable for damages of any nature arising from the use of this list and/or from tutoring arrangements. HCPS personnel may not tutor or instruct their own students for compensation; nor can they tutor for pay during contractual hours.
