Help repeal the Digital Economy Act

On Monday September 19th conference will be asked to vote on the party’s policy for the Digital Economy Act, specifically focusing on legislation which could result in households being disconnected from the internet if a member of that household is identified as having unlawfully downloaded copyrighted material, such as music or films. On Monday 19th at 5pm, two options will be placed before conference: Option A, calls for a repeal of sections 3-18 of the Digital Economy Act, which allow the targeting of households internet connection and the blocking of websites where copyright infringement is detected Option B, calls for a repeal of sections 17&18 of the Digital Economy Act, which deal only with the blocking of websites.
