The International Alliance of Inhabitants (IAI) is a global network of associations and social movements of inhabitants, cooperatives, communities, tenants, house owners, the homeless, shack-dwellers, indigenous peoples and people from working class neighborhoods, working for a better world through collective action and solidarity that provides spaces for us to speak, unmediated by those who would speak on our behalf.

L' Alliance Internationale des Habitants (AIH) est un Réseau Global d'associations et de mouvements sociaux d'habitants, communautés, locataires, propriétaires, sans abris, habitants de bidonvilles, coopératives d'habitants, populations d'autochtones, quartiers populaires des différentes régions du monde, qui travaillent et luttent pour un monde meilleur à travers l'action collective et solidaire, pour un espace de dialogue et d'échanges sans médiation par ceux qui voudraient parler en notre nom.

We are constructing a database of all  groups in Africa to develop better linkages between us so that we can exchange experiences and learn from each other. This is a vital stepping stone toward an African Network of Inhabitants Organizations, an idea whose time has come.  The IAI is carrying out  a survey of social movements to strengthen the convergence process developed during World Assembly of Inhabitants in Dakar in 2011 and Tunis in 2013 and 2015, and Africities VI (Dakar) and VII (Johannesburg).

Nous construisons une base de données de tout les groupes en Afrique, afin de mieux tisser et développer les liens qui nous unissent, et pour échanger nos expériences et apprendre les uns des autres.  Ceci est un tremplin vital pour bâtir le   Réseau Africain des Organisations d'Habitants, une étape qu'il est temps de concrétiser.  L'AIH est entrain de développer une enquête des mouvements sociaux afin de renforcer le processus de convergences développé lors des Assemblées Mondiales des Habitants à Dakar en 2011, et Tunis  en 2013 et 2015, et à Africités VI (Dakar) et VII (Johannesburg).
